Cocoa Locks Hair-Shake: Does it actually work?

Cocoa Locks Hair-Shake: Does it actually work?

I was gifted the 1 month program of the hair-growth shake powder from Cocoa Locks, which I am very thankful for. I will be testing out this product and seeing if it actually does what it says. As you know, I’ve been really getting into hair-care recently and am loving trying new products

THE PRODUCT

Cocoa Locks Hair-Shake claims:

  • Formulated for fuller & longer hair
  • Helps with damaged, broken hair
  • Achieve healthier hair from within
  • Tastes great, so that you won’t want to miss a dose
  • Contains Selenium, Zinc & Biotin – which has been clinically proven by the European Union to achieve healthy hair.

One thing that really surprised me with this product is that it’s only 26 calories! It’s also gluten free and vegetarian friendly. This product interested me as it feels like my hair grows at snail speed! I’ve also dyed my hair many a time and regularly need to maintain my roots. I couldn’t really find any other appealing product that would cater to these needs. My hair is pretty damaged, often frizzy and is so thick! I use many different conditioner treatments but they never seem to last long enough. Let’s hope this gives me the hair I’m after. If I’m honest, I’m very sceptical as many probably are but even if it doesn’t work, at least I have a delicious, low calorie shake!

HOW TO USE

It’s so simple! On the packaging, Cocoa locks say to add two level teaspoons (7g) into your glass. Then you pour in 140ml of milk – I assume this is cold milk as it’s a shake. You then whisk in the powder till there are no lumps.

It recommends you have one of these a day and for the full month as it says on the front to really get all the benefits. It has 220g of product so will definitely last you the month!

Just a little note, the calories DO NOT count the milk! So if you’re dieting I would recommend using semi skimmed or even like an almond/coconut milk. Whatever works for you.

MY THOUGHTS

Taste wise, it is pretty much like a chocolate milkshake. It tastes just like one in-fact. I would say you need to stir it really well as mine still had lumps in it after at least five minutes of mixing.

After using this product, I’ve found that it’s had no real benefits for my hair. The texture is the same and it hasn’t grown abnormally – ( I can tell as my roots are barely visible from dying my hair about a month ago).

All in all, does this product work? It tastes good and it looks good but the proof is in the pudding as they say. I noticed a slight change but none too big that I would stick to using this product as a treatment for my hair. I will however be drinking it as a shake.

Hope this helped you and thank you for reading,
